Draft, publish & archive
Understand the three website states and how to take your site live or offline.
The three states
Every yabby website is in one of three states:
- Draft — the default for new websites. Your site isn't publicly reachable yet, but you can build and preview it freely.
- Published — your site is live at
https://<slug>.yabby.page(and at your custom domain, if you've connected one). - Archived — your site is taken offline, but nothing is deleted. You can bring it back.
Preview while in draft
You don't need to publish to see your site. Use the Preview website button in the editor at any time — it shows your site exactly as visitors will see it, including themes, promo blocks, and the signup form.
Free plan
The Free plan is preview-only: you can build your entire site and preview it, but publishing requires a paid plan (Pro, Premium, or Max). See Plans.
Publish your site
Finish setting up your site in the editor and check it with Preview website.
Review your subdomain in Settings → Subdomain — this is the URL your site will live at.
Publish the website. Your site goes live at https://<slug>.yabby.page right away.
What publishing does
When you publish:
- Your site becomes reachable at your yabby.page subdomain — and at your custom domain once it's verified.
- A sitemap becomes available, so search engines can discover your pages.
Archive a site
Archiving takes your site offline without deleting anything — content, design, blocks, and settings all stay in place. Use it when you want a site out of the public eye but aren't ready to let it go. Publish again to bring it back.
Changing your slug
Changing the subdomain slug takes effect immediately: your site moves to the new URL and the old one stops working.
Old links break
Any links you've shared to the old subdomain — in video descriptions, social bios, or elsewhere — will stop working the moment you change the slug. Update them, or connect a custom domain so your public URL never has to change.
